Bombé octagonal with scroll spout, the hinged cover with wood finial, with leather-wrapped bifurcated swing handle, later engraved on one side with a coat-of-arms, the stand with three double scroll supports on pad feet, the octagonal burner later engraved with a crest on the cover, fully marked on underside of kettle and underside of stand, handle with leopard's head erased twice, cover with leopard's head erased and maker's mark, the burner cover apparently unmarked

The arms are those of Hall impaling Bilbie for Captain Francis Hall (1805-1888) of the 7th Hussars, Park Hall, Mansfield Woodhouse, Co. Nottinghamshire, and his wife Mary Ann (d. 1877), only daughter and eventual heiress of Joseph Bilbie of Bildworth, Co. Nottinghamshire, who married in 1832.
