Shaped circular, on four feet cast with grapevines, the cast openwork border with auricular ornament, grapevine and four drunken Silenus masks at intervals, engraved in centre with a coat-of-arms within an elaborate rococo cartouche, marked on reverse

The arms are those of Elliston impaling Gibbon, for Captain Edward Elliston (1696-1747), of South Weald, Essex, and his wife and cousin Catherine Gibbon (d.1743), daughter of Edward Gibbon of London, whom he married in 1733.
