Comprising a teapot with curved spout and stand, a two-handled sugar basin, cover and stand on three ball feet, and with reeded vine bracket handles, a tea caddy and a cream jug, each applied with a band of basket weave and with husk borders, a pair of circular muffin dishes and domed covers, and a glass butter dish, cracked, with cover and stand on four palmette feet, each with laurel and beaded border, the covers with foliage and acanthus bud finials, each engraved with a coat-of-arms beneath an earl's coronet, fully marked, engraved with scratchweights, the muffin dishes stands 19=10 and 19=13, the teapot 20=7, the teapot stand 6=4, the sugar vase 20=15, and the milk jug 9=3
the muffin dish and stand 7 1/4 in. (18.2 cm.) diameter
gross weight 131 oz. 1 dwt. (4,077 gr.)
The arms are those of Shirley impaling Mundy for Robert Shirley, 7th Earl Ferrers (1756-1827) and his second wife Elizabeth Mundy (d.1827), daughter of Wrightson Mundy of Markeaton, co. Derby, whom he married in 1790.
