A PAIR OF ROYAL GERMAN SILVER-GILT EWERS AND SIDEBOARD DISHES
MARK OF CONRAD HÖLLING, ALSO STRUCK WITH MARK DD CROWNED, HANNOVER-NEUSTADT, CIRCA 1700
The two ewers each stand on a domed foot with fluted band, with knopped stem, the body of inverted helmet form, applied with cut-card to the lower body and with applied mid-rib above, leaf-capped upswung scroll handle with attenuated beaded drop, and faceted beak shaped spout, the circular dishes with molded border, all engraved with a coat-of-arms, electoral cap and initials GLC, ewers marked right of handle with maker's mark and DD crowned, dishes marked on reverse with maker's mark, DD crowned and town mark
24 ¼ in. (61.5 cm.) diameter, the dishes; 11 ½ in. (29.2 cm.) and 11 ¼ in. (28.5 cm.) high, the ewers
