Lot 1455 | A U-boat clock
Heavy metal casing with flange, three holes for wall attachment, closed back plate with three screws for removal (marked 4.078). Glass front panel with two screw provisions for removal to wind. Clock face is marked with the national eagle above "M". Additional markings are "5066" and "U 2336". German submarine U-2336 was a Type XXIII U-boat of Germany's Kriegsmarine during World War II. U-2336 had a very short career conducting only one war patrol sinking only three vessels, one of which was another German U-boat (U-2344). Following the war, U-2336 was handed over to the Allies where she was taken to the British port of Lisahally and sunk in Operation Deadlight on 3 January 1946. Includes key. Dimensions ca. 20 x 8.5 cm. USA-Los: Versand aus den USA. Zustand: II
