Edward Burne-Jones' copy of Stockdale's illustrated edition of Aesop. The plates are by thirty different engravers: Landseer, J. Chapman, Bell, Eastgate, Bromley, Skelton, Audinet, Martin, Barrett, and others.



2 volumes, large octavo (238 x 162mm). Two engraved title pages and 110 plates (occasional faint offsetting and spotting). Contemporary tree calf (rebacked, preserving original spine labels).
