The case in the form of an Egyptian 'altar' cast in relief with stylised hieroglyphics, centred by a recessed panel with a bull's mask above a further recessed panel with a canopic jar issuing flowering branches, on a stepped plinth, the white enamel dial with Roman chapters signed 'Ledure Bronzier á Paris' and 'Hémon Hr.', the twin-barrel movement with tic-tac escapement, silk suspension and countwheel strike to bell
