Lot 33 | CHOTEAU PALLASITE METEORITE
Valeur estimée
£ 10 000 – 15 000
Found in Montana in 2011, the Choteau meteorite was a single small mass weighing only 8.4 kilograms. The Choteau meteorite is chemically ungrouped, meaning it’s not similar to other known pallasites; it is unique. It is composed of several massive olivine crystal pockets and many smaller crystals set into a nickel-rich matrix. Montana’s only known pallasite, it was cut and prepared with two larger end pieces and a few slices were cut from the center of the meteorite. There is very rarely any material available on the meteorite market. This is a chance to acquire a slice of one of the “unobtainable” pallasites.
