Eleven black and white photographs of Charlie Parker and two of Thelonious Monk, 1940s and later, the images comprising:

i. Charlie Parker, Tommy Potter, Miles Davis, Jordan Duke and Max Roach at the Three Deuces, New York, August 1947 [printed later]. The images by William Gottlieb, two gelatin silver prints, each 254 x 204 mm, each with photographer’s credit stamp verso; together with another image of Charlie Parker at the Three Deuces;

ii. Charlie Parker in performance, 1949 [printed later]. The image by William “PoPsie” Randolph, gelatin silver print, 253 x 204 mm, credit stamp of the Frank Driggs Collection and ink annotations verso; together with another image from the same performance;

iii. Charlie Parker with Dizzy Gillespie, Harold West and Sam Stewart at the New Jazz Foundation concert at Town Hall, New York, 16 May 1945 [printed later]. The image by Charles B. Nadell, gelatin silver print, 202 x 254 mm, credit stamp of the Frank Driggs Collection and ink annotations verso;

iv. Charlie Parker with Dizzy Gillespie, Bud Powell, Charlie Mingus and Max Roach at Massey Hall, 1953 [printed later]. The images by Robinson Photography, Ontario, four gelatin silver prints, each 198 x 248 mm, each with photographer’s credit stamp verso;

v. Charlie Parker and Sarah Vaughan signing autographs at Klayman’s Music Shop, Cincinnati, circa 1948 [printed later]. The image by an unknown photographer, gelatin silver print, 254 x 203 mm;

vi. Thelonious Monk at the Theâtre de la Mutualité, Paris, 1966. The images by Thierry Trombert, two gelatin silver prints, 238 x 179 mm and 240 x 161 mm, each with photographer’s credit stamp verso.
