SIGNED GIDEON & CO., LOCLE, SWISS MADE, NO. 86825, THE MOVEMENT ATTRIBUTED TO LOUIS-ELISÉE PIGUET, MADE FOR THE INDIAN MARKET CIRCA 1900, BY TRADITION FORMERLY THE PROPERTY OF THE SIXTH NIZAM OF HYDERABAD

Movement: Manual, frosted gilt, 32 jewels, two trains with tandem differential winding, visible chronograph mechanism activated by a button in the band, striking and repeating with two hammers on two gongs

Dial: White enamel

Case: Band, bow, and borders chased and engraved with stylized leaves and geometric patterns, front cover decorated with a finely painted on enamel scene of a lady and gentleman on horseback jumping a rose diamond-set fence on a frosted gold ground, the back cover decorated with a finely painted on enamel trophy composed of a pair of crossed riding crops, bridle, stirrups and a jockey’s cap amongst oak leaves. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with the technical details. 62 mm. diam.

Remark: The most complicated publicly known watch made for the Indian market. Fully serviced for the present owner.
