ZEISS, Carl, AG – Montierung der Kuppeln und Instrumente der Kgl. Sternwarte Berlin-Neubabelsberg von Carl Zeiss, Jena. [Jena: Carl Zeiss, 1915.]

Photograph album documented the construction and equipment of the Berlin-Neubabelsberg observatory, for which the firm Carl Zeiss was responsible. The old Berlin observatory was moved to Babelsberg (Potsdam) from 1913-1915 and newly equipped. The principal telescopes, a 650 mm refractor and a 1280 mm reflector, are both shown, along with details of further astronomical instruments, and the construction of the observatory itself. Carl Zeiss AG, Jena, was the largest manufacturer of cameras, precision lenses and optical equipment at the beginning of World War I. OCLC records only the Kiel Universitätsbibliothek copy. Astronomischer Jahresbericht, vol XIX, n. 1001 (Berlin and Leipzig 1917).

Oblong folio (240 x 315mm). Title leaf and 14 mounted photographs, approximately 110 x 150mm each, on gray card, the title and the photograph captions printed in green ink. Original grained cloth, titled and ruled in gilt.
