Blancpain is considered one of the makers of the most complicated wristwatches. We are proud to offer you a limited and very special minute repater from this house.
Named after the commune of Villeret - the place where Blancpain was founded - the classic series is known for its uncluttered, simple designs - coupled with technical refinements in the smallest of spaces. This minute repeater was introduced in 1986. The 9-line manual winding movement with minute repetition is extremely thin with a height of 3 millimetres and was the smallest and slimmest minute repeater at that time. From the "Six Masterpieces" series of the time, the minute repeater in this size was a highlight.
It represents the entire range of the high art of watchmaking that is still practised at Blancpain today. In a space of about one cubic centimetre, the watch houses more than 300 components, which together weigh no more than three grams. More than 10,000 hours were invested in the development of this watch, and a production time of three months was needed for each piece at the time. The fine movement with the two hammers that acoustically strike the time can be observed through a glass disk. Despite its small dimensions, this clock is in no way inferior to its larger siblings: here, too, there is, for example, the "tout-ou-rien" device or an adjustment option for the speed of the repetition. It is something very special that we may present to you here a clock from the very first series with the individual number 5.
