First edition. William Wood Junior's rare suite of panoramic lithographs depicting the main street of Calcutta, and other significant views. Abbey Travel 495.

Folio (545 x 365mm). General typographic title, 28 lithographic plates on regular paper, plates 16 and 28 unnumbered (occasional light spotting, plates 16, 18 and 19 browned, plate 27 slightly shorter on long-edge). Contemporary half calf, marbled boards (binding rather rubbed, slight wear to extremities). Provenance: Dr Gray (signature on title) – C. Davies (stamps on upper and lower pastedowns (most erased)) – Phillips London, 24 October 1985, lot 240.
