Albert Flamm était un artiste allemand de l'école de Düsseldorf. Il étudie l'architecture à l'Académie des arts de Düsseldorf et à Anvers. En 1841, il se tourne vers la peinture et devient l'élève d'Andreas Achenbach. En 1848, Flamm est l'un des fondateurs de l'association d'artistes Malkasten.
Albert Flamm a surtout peint des paysages italiens, appréciés pour leur fidélité à la nature, leurs couleurs vives et leur finition virtuose. Il choisissait souvent une position d'observation élevée pour pouvoir créer de larges perspectives panoramiques dans la lumière chaude et lumineuse du soleil, avec des détails finement rendus.
