Paul Allen est un éditeur, historien et poète américain.
Il a étudié à l'université Brown, puis s'est installé à Philadelphie, où il a été rédacteur en chef de The Port Folio, The Gazette of the United States et The Federal Republican. Paul Allen a connu le succès à Baltimore, où il a été rédacteur en chef du Baltimore Morning Chronicle jusqu'à sa mort. Paul Allen rejoint également le Delphic Club, et son poème épique Noah (1821) est un succès.
