PAINTER 17./18. Century, probably Antwerp, pair of antique-style portraits "Vespasianus X" & "Titus XI", each with a laurel wreath and red robe in an oval border painted with a name, each oil/wood, HxW: each approx. 64x49 cm (up to 80x64 cm with Frame). Drying cracks in the plates, reinforced with crossbars on verso, old restored and retouched, part. Paint chipping and rubbing. Each with a frame. VERSO on the plate "Vespasianus" brand mark, probably for the Antwerp workshop and remains of a designation or numbering; Remnants of a red lacquer seal on the reverse of the "Titus". LETTER ON "Vespasianus" by Thomas Brachert, chief restorer Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Nuremberg from 1977 (as copy).
