Johannes Kepler était un mathématicien et astronome allemand qui a découvert que la Terre et les planètes se déplacent autour du Soleil sur des orbites elliptiques.
Kepler a créé les trois lois fondamentales du mouvement des planètes. Il a également effectué des travaux fondamentaux en optique et en géométrie, calculé les tables astronomiques les plus précises et réalisé de nombreuses inventions et découvertes en physique sur lesquelles se sont basées d'autres découvertes scientifiques réalisées par des scientifiques plus avancés.
