Buying of works of art at auction
No registration is required to view the auction lots.
Any confidential information, provided by you, is used only to make a contact with you in case of application or for transactions. No third parties have or can have an access to your data. Our service is absolutely secure for both sellers and buyers.
First of all, you should register. After confirming your email address, enter your personal information in your user profile, such as your first name, last name, and mail address. Choose a lot from the upcoming auction and the maximum amount you want to place on it. After confirmation of your choice, we will send your application by e-mail to the appropriate auction house. If the auction house accepts a request, it will participate in the auction. You can view the current status of a bid at any time in your personal account in the "Bids" section.
Auctions are performed by auction houses and each of the auction houses describes their terms of auction. You can see the texts in the auction catalog you are interested in, section "Terms of Sale":
- Open the auction catalog you are interested in.
- Under the catalog banner, click on the "Terms of Sale" section to read the rules for this auction.
To place a bid, open the lot you are interested in. Select the amount you are ready to pay for it in a special drop-down window and click "Bid now", and confirm it in the next window. We will forward your bid to the auction house for review. You can see the current status of the bid in your personal account.
The results of the auction are published within a few days after its completion. In the top menu of the site, find the "Auctions" tab. Click on it and then in the drop-down menu click on "Past auctions". You will be taken to the page of past auction catalogs. Select the desired catalog from the list, open it and view the current status of the lot you are interested in.
Yes. You can purchase unsold auction lots as part of a aftersale. As a rule, such a sale lasts 2-4 weeks after the end of the auction. If the aftersale is completed the lots can no longer be acquired.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Terms of Sale" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
Auction houses describe in detail the rules of the auction in their terms of use. The rules may differ depending on which auction house holds the auction. But as a rule, the items purchased at auction are non-refundable.
