Written just a couple of weeks before Lee's surrender at Appomattox, it concerns an exchange of prisoners: "I presume a large number of our prisoners are yet to arrive from Wilmington and also from the Miss river. Autograph letter signed, Newbury, New Hampshire, 25 July 1904. 1p. Concerning the unlikely possibility that Theodore Roosevelt would not gain New York's electoral votes in the 1904 presidential election. "…but even if they do they have other impossibilities ahead of them, with our position in many states stronger than if it was in 1900." * many others. Limited edition, no. 148 of 500 sets printed.
