In 2016, Sergiy felt the need in changing the digital circulation practice, so he started to work with an old complicated technology of photography – ambrotype.
It took a half of a year to test it all and to prepare prescription reagents, special utensils and devices. This cause a completely unpredictable, unique result. The appearance of every ambrotype is a step-by-step, fascinating and a manual process. The technique of "drawing by the light", using reagents on a glass plate, is unique, therefore excludes any copy.

Василий Поникаров (1929-2014)- это стандарт высочайшего профессионализма и трудолюбия. Исполненные в сложной технике “по мокрому”, его картины отражают тот яркий мир, который существовал в воображении художника.
Свой творческий путь Василий начал еще в детстве. Страсть и талант к рисованию ему передался от матери. Простая и самобытная женщина расписывала дома и ворота односельчанам. Под ее кистью расцветали сады и цветы, принося яркость и радость всем вокруг.
Василий родился в сложное время, он застал Вторую Мировую Войну ребенком, во всем ее ужасе, разрухе и голоде. Спустя послевоенные годы, порог Одесского художественного училища, переступил юный и тогда еще никому не известных абитуриент. Абсолютный практик, он завалил экзамены по теории, но стоило ему взять в руки кисть и краски, как многочисленная комиссия профессоров и преподавателей была уверенна перед ними - самородок.
Василий Поникаров долго искал и нашел свои приемы, которые узнаваемы и неповторимы, как особенности туше – прикосновения к звуку – у пианиста или скрипача. В этом еще одно уникальное свойство акварельной живописи Василия Поникарова, она позволяла ему экспериментировать, изобретая все новые и новые секреты мастерства.
За долгий творческий путь, выставки Поникарова происходили во многих странах и городах. Всего за его жизнь их было свыше 300. В музее Василия Поникарова во Франции до сих пор любят и помнят визиты “Императора подсолнухов”. Теплые отзывы и добрые слова в память о гениальном акварелисте приходят его семье до сих пор, а награды и дипломы за творческую карьеру занимают целый зал в его мастерской.
Имя художника Поникарова известно во всем мире. Его работы украшают собой выставки, музеи и частные коллекции. Французские, Итальянские, Американские, Японские и даже Австралийские коллекционеры весьма лестно отзываются о картинах Маэстро.
Подсолнухи, маки и цветущие поля цветут круглый год во всех уголках нашей планеты. Его картины это всегда праздник цветов и весны.
