I'm a self-taught sculptor.The material I work with is black wood which I obtain from the marshland of Kobuleti, Such kind of wood can be found only in Africa and Georgia. The style is abstraction-surrealistic. The works have been sold in many countries of Europe and they are kept in private collections as well. Besides, the expertise was provided by National Museum of Georgia in order to reveal the age of the material and the expertise stated that the age of the material is 10.000 years! In case of expressing interest, I can submit all the necessary documents. There are more than hundred sculptures in my collection, which is kept in Museums of local lore of Tbilisi and Batumi.

Together with paints I leave on a canvas a particle of the internal world when you can want, comprehend and do something spiritually beautiful that can be pleasant and bring to people genuine pleasure and delight, to make the world more beautiful. In the process of creative search, I set myself the task of seeing and showing the extraordinary in the ordinary and the ordinary in the extraordinary. Infinitely happy is the person who can see something beautiful in the ordinary and everyday, and I am that person. Veryimportantlot for me is the opportunity to show their art to thousands of people from all over the world and get inspiration to create new masterpieces. Because art lives when someone perceives it.

Alexey Bykov was born in Almaty Kazakhstan in 1976.
In 1995-99 while studying at the University named after Abai he took classes on sculpture and human anatomy from the professor of arts and prominent soviet sculptor Juravlev Nikolay Stepanovich.
To manifest the abundance and beauty of the world Bykov has chosen wood as a basic material used for his sculptures for its fullness of life, natural warmth and grace. Wood itself guides him during the creation process with its pattern and form which he aims to reveal and emphasize in his sculptures.
Though hardwood species are the sculptor's favorite material he works with plaster as well. In 2000s he created a series of portraits of famous actors in this material.
Influenced by the classic school and folk art, Bykov manages to develop his own style where classic shapes melt into exaggerated forms smoothly flowing one into another achieving a natural harmoniously accomplished look.
From 1995 till nowadays Alexey Bykov took part in a range of local international exhibitions and symposiums.
His works are in private collections of Russia, USA, Great Britain, Spain and China.
